Is the moon getting colonized?

Several companies and governments have boosted their interspace presence. Countries and companies have different ideas on how to properly monetize the moon, some say interspace tourism and colonies in the moon is the answer. Others say the use of satellites is the way to go, and others the moon may be used to decrease overpopulation.

China and Russia are currently considering using the moon to decrease overpopulation and make some profits off this while colonizing it; and Switzerland is willing to help monetarily achieve this. China’s ambitious plans involve getting several citizens into the moon, but transportation costs, living costs, working facilities, health facilities, education services, tourism and several other factors haven’t been discussed yet. This may indicate this isn’t a viable option for China nor the world, as the moon is currently public.

However, other countries such as France and the United States are interested in investing in Space X, a private rocket company based in the US. France will do so, with the purpose of building satellites and claiming space rights through those. France and the US claim that Blue Origin, another rocket building company, doesn’t have enough money to fund any of the projects France or the US are interested in.
